Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates (1880-1967). It is a gentle form of exercise for toning and body control, which has been modified to benefit patients who have suffered from musculo-skeletal injuries to facilitate their return to normal function.

Based upon a well constructed philosophical foundation, the core of method is ‘awareness of your own body’ and each and every exercise is built around its eight key principles:

Relaxation,Breathing,Concentration,Flowing Movements,Alignment,Co-Ordination,Centring & Stamina.

Pilates works on a completely different level. It actually changes the way in which you move by redressing imbalances and altering movement patterns, allowing your body to be brought back into balance
